We have had successful workshops in Lodwar in Turkana, Kapenguria West Pokot, in Isiolo, Iten, Elgeyo Marakwet, Kabarnet in Baringo among other counties. We are lucky that many community leaders have supported this programme which has been responsible for its success. We thank Salma Moku in Isioll County for recruiting girls and women in almost all the sub counties of the county. We thank Elizabeth Ekwam from Turkana in ensuring that this idea finds place in various public forums of this county. We thank Irene Chemng’etich for walking long distances to trace the Traditional Birth Attendants (TBAs). Peris Chepchumba from Elgeyo Marakwet for creating many centres of meetings three of which we attended in Iten, Kapsowar and Tot. Grace Chepkoko in Baringo for the successful Margat and Kabarnet sensitization workshop. We have send out invitations for our partners and team members to meet in Nairobi on November, 23rd to 24th, 2017 to discuss progress and receive updates from various counties. We would like to remind all members to complete the filled reports that we gave during the various workshops. This will allow us to establish various needs of the various counties. Dr. Pamela Wadende has volunteered to be one of the trainers during the November workshops. Ms. Susan Siongola Agalo (Kenyan Registered Nurse) will also be training. We would like to thank them and also invite other volunteers.

CEDRED started its work in northern Kenya in 1999 focusing on poverty eradication, women empowerment, health issues, peace and security matters, gender mainstreaming, environment, governance, water, food security issues and all matters affecting community development. Over the years CEDRED has worked closely with CBOs, community leaders and various grassroots organizations. Northern Kenya enjoys partnership with CEDRED partners because of its unique location and challenges many of which have not been addressed by development actors. CEDRED has benefited has benefited from volunteers and good will of local leaders who have provided tremendous amount of time and resources to ensure that CEDRED activities succeed. We would like to ask partners, development activists who visit our website to partner with us in any of the thematic areas we are dealing with in northern Kenya.
