This project fall under CEDERD capacity building and advocacy activities. We are pleased to let you know that our partnership in northern Kenya is bearing fruits. We are happy to report that we received support from the county governments and other partners. Thanks to the Community Based Organizations which continue to support the volunteer Sexual and Reproductive Health scouts and monitors from the region. We have had successful workshops in Lodwar in Turkana, Kapenguria West Pokot, in Isiolo,Iten, Elgeyo Marakwet, Kabarnetin Baringo among other counties.
We are lucky that many community leaders have supported this programme which has been responsible for its success. We thank Salma Moku in Isioll County for recruiting girls and women in almost all the sub counties of the county. We thank Elizabeth Ekwam from Turkana in ensuring that this idea finds place in various public forums of this county. We thank Irene Chemng’etich for walking long distances to trace the Traditional Birth Attendants (TBAs). PerisChepchumba from Elgeyo Marakwet for creating many centres of meetings three of which we attended in Iten,Kapsowar and Tot.Grace Chepkoko in Baringo for the successful Margat andKabarnet sensitization workshop. We have send out invitations for our partners and team members to meet in Nairobi on November, 23rdto 24th, 2017 to discuss progress and receive updates from various counties. We would like to remind all members to complete the filled reports that we gave during the various workshops. This will allow us to establish various needs of the various counties. Dr. Pamela Wadende has volunteered to be one of the trainers during the November workshops. Ms. Susan SiongolaAgalo (Kenyan Registered Nurse) will also be training. We would like to thank them and also invite other volunteers.
